Meet Our Board Members
Carol Holmes
I saw the need and created Connect Camp. Helping and getting to know clients as a wellness coach, yoga and CPR instructor exposed me to see how caregivers need essential self-care time and their people with dementia need social engagement away from them. My goal is to expand CC to more
communities and inspire others to join us, sharing their experiences and love. Together we can make a difference!
Christopher Miller
I am honored to be part of a team that values each

Rosie Mucino
Having worked with programs like Head Start, Texas Department of Health, and others, I've seen the toll of Dementia on families, especially those with fewer resources. My personal connection dates back to
2007 when my mother was diagnosed. Connect Camp is making a real difference for those with Dementia and their families.
Gena Opella
When my mother was diagnosed with dementia, it shifted my perspective. I saw firsthand the pressing need to provide caregivers with a well deserved break and to create opportunities for meaningful interactions for those with dementia. This realization drives my
commitment to advancing Connect Camp's mission.
Kathy Smith
My perspective as a board member centers on enhancing the lives of individuals with dementia, ensuring their mobility and active engagement for as long as possible. Equally important to me is the support provided to their caregivers. Beyond this
passion, I've also actively participated in other charitable communities,
including the Springtown Chamber of Commerce.
Terri Smith
As a board member, my journey has led me through meaningful
roles at Parker County Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. These experiences have shaped my dedication to serving our community's
seniors. I'm equally proud of my
involvement with Interim Homecare & Hospice, where I contribute to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
HISTORY
Connect Camp was born out of an opportunity to fulfill an unmet need within our community. Caregivers, burdened by the constant care required for their loved ones, were lacking the opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy life without the constant worry of providing care for someone with dementia. It was in November 2016 that I, while teaching a yoga class at St. Stephen Catholic Church, observed the immense stress faced by a caregiver who attended the class with her mother, who was living with dementia. Witnessing this situation inspired me to create a program that would offer Mary Ellen Guay a positive and secure environment where she could be herself, while also giving her daughter Cathy some much-needed personal time.
Throughout the journey, we have been fortunate to receive support from the church community. Father John Casey, followed by Father Mike O'Sullivan and now Father Emmet O'Hara, have generously provided us with a space within St. Stephen Catholic Church premises to run Connect Camp. Additionally, the program has attracted a wonderful group of volunteers, and we have successfully organized themed programs on the first and third Thursday of each month.
